Main Job Function

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key strategic leader responsible for the Company’s global financial stewardship, capital markets engagement, and long-term value creation. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO oversees financial strategy, reporting, treasury, risk, tax, governance, and enabling functions, while partnering closely with the Board and Executive Leadership Team to support growth, funding initiatives, and operational scale-up.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the Company’s long-term strategy.
  • Develop and implement the Company’s financial strategy, capital structure, and funding plan.
  • Establish financial performance metrics aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Maintain long-range financial models and scenario planning frameworks.
  • Serve as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Lead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and restructuring activities.

Financial Reporting & Disclosure:

  • Oversee preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and securities regulations.
  • Review and approve all regulatory filings and public financial disclosures.
  • Provide accurate and timely management reporting to the Executive Team and Board.

Treasury, Capital & Funding:

  • Oversee treasury operations, including cash flow management, liquidity planning, and investment strategy.
  • Manage working capital, debt facilities, and capital allocation.
  • Oversee intercompany financing structures.
  • Lead or support equity and debt financing initiatives.
  • Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and capital markets participants.

Governance, Risk & Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain a robust internal control framework.
  • Oversee enterprise financial risk management.
  • Coordinate external audits and maintain auditor relationships.
  • Monitor financial-related legal matters.
  • Report material financial and risk matters to the Audit Committee.

Group Tax and Legal:

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and optimize tax structuring.
  • Oversee the company’s insurance programs to mitigate risks.

Group IT Management:

  • Oversee enterprise IT governance, architecture, and systems strategy.
  • Ensure financial systems integrity, cybersecurity risk alignment, and regulatory compliance.
  • Approve major IT investments and system implementations.
  • Ensure IT supports operational scalability and reporting requirements.

Group HR & Payroll Management:

  • Oversee payroll governance frameworks and compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Ensure HR policies and reporting align with regulatory, governance, and disclosure requirements.
  • Provide financial oversight of compensation structures, incentive plans, and equity programs.

Procurement & Logistics:

  • Oversee contract management to ensure favourable terms and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an international financial role in mining/resources industry of which at least 2 years at senior financial leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Proven experience in financial management, treasury, and payroll administration.
  • Experience in tax structuring, legal compliance, and insurance management.
  • Knowledge of IT architecture, system design, and compliance.
  • Experience in corporate valuation, M&A, and restructuring.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills
