Our client, a major player in construction, has an opportunity for an External Sales Representative (Exports) to join their growing team

Main job function

Duties and Responsibilities


Ø  Interact with:

Ø  Traders

Ø  Indirect export companies

Ø  Walk in customers

Ø  Inspections of institutes

·        Calling on existing customers and canvassing for new customers that does Exports Sales.

·        Assist with walk in customer for Exports Sales

·        Telesales of Tenders / Quotations when required

·        Assist with Tender pricing / Quotations when required

·        Communicate progress regarding customers and targeted professionals’ requirements to branch manager weekly

·        Promote companies’ full basket of products at all times

·        Provide targeted professionals with updated material, technical info, brochures, samples

·        Knowledge of material availability and stock holding

·        Knowledge of competitors, product offering and prices in the marketplace

·        Liaise with Customer on progress of orders when required.

·        Liaise with Administrator & Expeditor on changes to customers’ requirements

·        General Own Admin and Filing

·        Maintain and grow Exports Sales customer data base

·        Maintain Exports sales customer price lists

·        Assist Administrator & Expeditor with customers cutting lists / drawing office requests

·        Assist Administrator with credit applications and rep reports for the debtor’s department

·        Assist Administrator & Expeditor with Customer complaints, requirements, progress

·        Resolve customer complaints speedily

·        Assist with additional tasks as requested by management from time to time

·        Overtime required from time to time

·        Assist with answering of incoming telephone calls

·        Uphold the company’s code of ethics

·        Knowledge of material in warehouse

·        Knowledge of material within the company an advantage


Relevant Sales & Marketing Degree/Diploma


·        Valid Driver’s License is essential

·        Exports Sales experience will be an advantage (local and aboard)

·        Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·        Good knowledge of reading of English language

·        Ability to negotiate and communicate with all customers

·        Liaise effectively with Colleagues and Management

·        Ability to work independently

·        Ability to work well under pressure

·        Ability to do local and international travelling
