Senior Financial Manager -(LWSFM)

Main Job Function
• An outstanding opportunity for an accomplished, hands-on Senior Financial Manager to support the Managing Director of this leading multi-site group in the automotive sector.
• The successful candidate must combine strong financial management discipline with commercial insight, operational understanding, and the ability to work closely with branch managers in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.
• The role requires someone who can produce accurate reporting, manage cash and controls, identify margin leakage, and provide practical recommendations that improve branch profitability and overall business performance.

Responsibilities include:

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting
• Prepare monthly management accounts, branch packs, consolidated reporting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong balance sheet discipline, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and audit readiness.
• Provide concise financial commentary and recommendations for corrective action.

Commercial and Operational Support
• Support the MD with weekly dashboards and decision-focused analysis across revenue, gross profit, WIP, debtor collections, insurer recoveries, labor recovery, parts margin, productivity, and cash.
• Work closely with branch and workshop management to identify margin leakage, cost risks, process inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, business cases, supplier reviews, capex proposals, and branch performance reviews.

Governance, Controls and Compliance
• Maintain effective internal controls across cash, banking, creditors, debtors, payroll, stock, approvals, and financial processes.
• Ensure compliance with tax, audit, statutory, POPIA, banking, insurer, and company policy requirements.
• Lead and develop the finance team to ensure accuracy, deadlines, accountability, and continuity.

Key Deliverables
• Monthly management accounts and executive finance pack.
• Weekly MD dashboard covering the main operational and financial drivers.
• Annual budget, rolling forecast, cash flow forecast, and branch profitability review.
• WIP, debtor, insurer recovery, margin leakage, and control exception reporting.
• Audit, compliance, and internal control tracking.

Qualifications
• Qualification in Accounting/ Finance

Criteria
• 10+ years
• Excel, ERP, reporting, dashboard, WIP, and data analytics capability.
