Main job function
The Legal Secretary will provide administrative and secretarial support across the Legal function, together with assistance with general HR administration.
This is a hands-on administrative support role suited to an organized individual who is comfortable working with confidential information, documentation and multiple priorities.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Head of Legal and HR
- Prepare, format, proofread and file legal correspondence and documentation
- Maintain legal files, agreements, contracts and supporting documentation
- Assist with document control, filing, scanning and electronic record keeping
- Maintain and monitor legal and administrative registers
- Assist with tracking agreements, legal matters, actions and important deadlines
- Coordinate meetings, appointments and documentation as required
- Assist with correspondence and communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain accurate and confidential records
- Assist with maintaining HR policies, registers and controlled documents
- Assist with filing and administration relating to disciplinary and employee relations matters
- Assist with preparation of HR reports and supporting documentation
- Provide general administrative support to the Legal and HR functions as required
The successful candidate should have previous experience in a Legal Secretary, Legal Administrator or similar administrative support role.

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
Minimum Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12
- Legal Secretarial, Paralegal, Office Administration or related qualification would be advantageous
- Previous legal secretarial or legal administrative experience
- Previous exposure to HR administration would be advantageous
- Good computer literacy and Microsoft Office skills
