Facilities Manager – SSFM

Main job function

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, continuous improvement, compliance, and operational performance of our Group’s commercial property portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring that all facilities remain safe, functional, compliant, and maintained to the highest standard while delivering exceptional service to tenants and internal stakeholders.

You will be highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Minimum Qualifications
• Diploma in Building Management, Building Science, Property Management or equivalent.
• Engineering or Quantity Surveying qualifications will be advantageous.

 

Experience Required
• 5–7 years’ experience in Property and Facilities Management.
• Minimum 3 years in a management role.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial building maintenance.
• Proven experience managing contractors and maintenance teams.
• Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) will be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire systems, OHSA compliance and soft services.
• Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Knowledge of sustainability and industry best practices in Facilities Management.

 

Key Responsibilities
• Manage the Group’s property portfolio to ensure buildings remain in excellent condition.
• Plan and oversee refurbishment and redevelopment projects.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
• Manage maintenance budgets and optimize lifecycle costs of buildings and assets.
• Coordinate and monitor contractors to ensure quality service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Manage building assets and maintenance records.
• Respond to after-hours facility emergencies when required.
• Resolve tenant complaints professionally while ensuring lease compliance.
• Conduct building inspections, including take-on and take-back inspections.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure efficient property operations.
