Main job function
As a Mid-Level VB6 and C# Developer, you will be a key member of our development team, responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining software applications that meet our clients’ needs. You will work on a range of projects, collaborating closely with other developers and project stakeholders to deliver high quality solutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field preferred.
Experience
o Proven experience in software development using VB6 and C#.
o Strong understanding of software development principles, design patterns, and best practices.
o Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases (SQL Server, Oracle, etc.).
o Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
o Familiarity with software development tools and IDEs.
o Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
o Strong communication and teamwork skills.
o Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
o Knowledge of .NET framework is a must.
Responsibilities:
o Software Development:
▪ Develop and maintain software applications using VB6 and C#.
▪ Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
▪ Debug and resolve software defects and issues.
o Requirements Analysis:
▪ Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and understand project requirements.
▪ Translate requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
o Testing and Quality Assurance:
▪ Write unit tests and participate in code reviews to ensure code quality.
▪ Conduct testing and quality assurance to identify and resolve defects.
o Documentation:
▪ Create and maintain technical documentation, including code comments and design documents.
▪ Keep documentation up to date with any changes to the software.
o Collaboration:
▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other developers, designers, and project managers, to deliver projects on time and within scope.
▪ Provide technical support and assistance to team members as needed.
o Continuous Learning:
▪ Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
▪ Continuously improve your skills and share knowledge with the team.
Salary
R60k-R75k
