Main job function
- Drafting of commercial bonds (mortgage and notarial) for such institutions as Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Investec, African Bank etc
- Handle all aspects of the conveyancing process, including document preparation, client communication and liaising with relevant parties.
- Handling bonds, property transfers and related legal procedures with precision and efficiency.
- Experience in notarial deeds, subdivisions, consolidations and opening of sectional title registers.
- Facilitating and finalizing cancellations.
- Ensure compliance with property laws and regulations.
- Supervise and mentor conveyancing paralegals and candidate attorney/s.
- Act as a key point of contact for complex property transactions.
- Assist in maintaining client relationships and contributing to the department’s growth strategies.
- Ensure FICA compliance and adhere to the Firm’s compliance policies.
Qualifications
- LLB Qualification, Admitted Attorney and Conveyancer.
Criteria
- Minimum 5- 10 Years’ experience working in a conveyancing environment.
- Advance knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures.
- Ability to draft and review legal documents.
- Computer Literate (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work independently and to use initiative.
- Meticulous and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage high volumes of transactions simultaneously.
- Preference will be given to a person with their own practice, and willing to grow the pie
- Must be technologically savvy, and be able to work and utilise various conveyancing software programs like stordoc, lexis nexus etc;
- Great inter-personal and management skills.
