Our client has an exciting vacancy for a skilled Agronomist or Independent Farm Agent who are enthusiastic about advancing soil biology, regenerative agriculture, and sustainable farmer outcomes. This position suits a professional committed to guiding South African farmers toward innovative, biology-based strategies that improve soil vitality, increase resilience, and deliver measurable productivity gains.
Main job function
Work closely with commercial farmers to create bespoke accurate protocols, execute on-farm trials, and incorporate high-performance biological inputs.
Support farmers in analysing soil health indicators, measuring yield enhancements, and refining practices for superior regenerative results.
Generate insightful seasonal and annual reports that document advancements, regenerative impacts, and the effectiveness of biological solutions.
Cultivate collaborative partnerships with farmers to deploy state-of-the-art regenerative methods, promoting the broad integration of effective mycorrhizal technologies.
Qualifications
Diploma / Degree (Agriculture) or similar
Experience/Criteria
Experience: At least 10 years in South African agriculture, preferably
in consultative or advisory capacities for commercial operations.
Network: A well-developed portfolio of ongoing relationships with
commercial farmers, illustrating your expertise in facilitating
sustainable shifts.
Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of regenerative agriculture, soil
microbiology, and the utilization of biological inoculants.
Skills: Adept at merging rigorous agronomic science with pragmatic,
on-site assistance; proficient in data analysis, stakeholder
communication, and strategic problem-solving. Certifications in
relevant fields like soil science or agronomy are highly valued.
Personal Attributes: Forward-thinking, environmentally conscious,
and focused on cooperative advancements in the agricultural sector.
Salary
Basic Salary plus Commission
