Technology Enterprise Architect (Nature Conservation) – RKTEA

Main job function

The Enterprise Architect role offers a rare chance to design and implement scalable systems that improve how protected areas are managed, enhance collaboration and optimize operational efficiency. You’ll work with cutting-edge tools and technologies, partnering across teams to align Technology strategy with their bold conservation mission. Beyond shaping the technical landscape, this role supports continuous learning and professional growth in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

There are 4 pillars (aligned with TOGAF) which define the scope of this role, namely:

  1. Business Architecture,
  2. Data Architecture,
  3. Applications Architecture, and
  4. Technical Architecture

This will incorporate the requirement to actively develop and deliver the following:

  • Enterprise Architecture diagrams
  • API, middleware, store & forward queue definitions and ownership/ role agreement
  • Error management: review, identification, resolution and reporting
  • Vendor roles and responsibilities
  • Technology, Super user and external vendor responsibilities
  • Data integrity profiling and review frequency protocols
  • Data warehouse platform architecture, the interfaces to downstream and upstream, the normalization/ data relational structure mapping to APIs
  • Network management – WAN, WWAN, VPN, LAN standards and SOP
  • Network monitoring solution – dashboards and notifications (incl escalation)

Qualifications

  • BSC Computer Science

 

Criteria

  • Be highly passionate about conservation, sustainability and nature.
  • Can show a portfolio of evidence through their working experience to demonstrate their experience in the 4 portfolios (Data, Applications, Business, Tech)
  • Can show their interpersonal skills to be able to take initiative and engage business stakeholders (at different levels)
  • Demonstrate their ability to define, write, critique and set the standards for documentation from this portfolio (from BRS, FRS, TDD and SDKS and logical designs to DRP, BCP, SOPS).
