Main job function
Our client is recruiting a Senior Legal Bookkeeper who has worked in a legal firm specialising in Road Accident Fund. The candidate must be in a senior position will have to have a strong bookkeeping background particularly in the legal environment and be proficient with the legal suite software. They should also have a solid understanding of legal trust accounting and financial compliance with the legal industry standards and have strong working ethics, be punctual and the ability to work independently. The successful candidate’s duties will entail:
- Processing Fees and Disbursements
- Capture and reconcile creditors
- Manage business and trust accounts
- Pay Fidelity Fund timeously
- Generate day to day and month end reports
- Open matter codes for clients
- Load daily and monthly payments for both business and trust
- SARS payments in respect of EMP201 and VAT 201
- Annual financial statement preparation and trust audits
- Monthly Management account reporting
- Record Petty Cash
- Prepare and post monthly journals
and many other bookkeeping duties. The candidate will report only to the Partner of the firm.
