SAP Lead – Reference DOSAPLEAD

Our client based in Cape Town are currently seeking the skills of a SAP Lead

 Main job function 

As a part of Global IT team, reporting to CIO, the person will be responsible for Supporting ERP (SAP) globally, on Sales and Distribution, Material Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance and Controlling modules by being the focal point for Maintenance, Projects & QA/Testing.

Maintenance:

  • Gathering details of bugs/issues that are reported from functions.
  • Preparing functional specifications, detail the need.
  • Opening requests on company’s behalf to third party SAP support team and having it assigned to correct support team members.
  • Proposing temporary/emergency solutions as needed
  • Prioritization of tickets & coordination/follow up with 3rd party support team considering impact of changes on the business.
  • Following up on proposed resolutions, making sure that unit testing is done (by the functional consultant) before moving to QAS and the validation & documentation is provided by business users.
  • Regularly communicating the progress to business partners

Project Management:

  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
  • Reviewing with functional consultants for feasible options, estimations & dependencies
  • Providing a project plan to sponsors, benefit of the project, timeline, budget, resources assignments, risks, operating plans, get sponsors approval.
  • Coordinating the actions of all parties, making sure that project progresses as per plans.
  • Effectively communicating expectations and status to team members and partners in a timely and clear fashion
  • Providing user documentation for changes /new functionalities.

Quality & Testing:

  • Oversee technical design specifications, define test conditions, develop accurate and complete test plans and conduct/coordinate testing according to plan to follow all change control processes.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all documentation accurately reflects the current status of changes and outstanding issues so that business requirements reflect application features and functions.
  • Ensure that all items follow the change management process and are entered and tracked through the change management process.
  • Work with appropriate personnel to ensure the appropriate level of testing for new functionality or change requests.
  • Ensure continuing operational quality by documenting bug fixes and enhancements, testing and releasing updates.

 

Qualifications 

Degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related field or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  

Criteria 

  • 8 – 10 + years in leading design, initiatives, and on-going support for Operations functions (Sales and Distribution, Manufacturing, Supply Chain/Materials Management) enabling process and system improvements
  • 8 – 10+ years working knowledge of S/4 HANA module configuration (FI, CO, PP , MM, SD, LE) as well as integration within S/4 HANA to other modules.
  • 5+ years of S/4 HANA functional experience in the SAP environment or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP/business application support and delivery in a manufacturing environment leveraging SAP capabilities and best practices.
  • Proven project management and leadership skills, including the ability to gather clear business requirements and develop value-based business cases.
  • Detailed knowledge of integration points between FI, CO, PP , MM, SD, LE and other SAP modules.
  • Experience with enterprise system migrations across sales, support, finance, and corporate functions
  • Experience on ABAP/PO/PI Development
  • Strong knowledge on S/4 HANA technology stack and understanding of architecture
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with specific departmental knowledge.
