Our client based in Durban, KZN are currently seeking the skills of a Procurement Manager.
The Procurement Manager formulates direction and advice, manages change, and leads and influences both internal and external stakeholders in procurement and supply. Develops, improves, and fulfils organisational and functional objectives in procurement and supply.
Main job function
Position & Influence
- Leading the procurement function.
- Design and implement strategies for the procurement and supply chain function aligned to corporate strategy.
- Effective leadership and communication skills.
- Develop and implement relevant procedures and governance for effective procurement.
- Promote the contributions that the procurement or supply chain functions can make to achieving corporate objectives across the organisation, with stakeholders
Technology
- Developing the use of technology, master data, and reporting for effective Procurement & Supply Chain Management to support sourcing strategy and tactics as well as operational efficiency
Spend Management
- Develop sourcing plans to deliver lean and agile supply chains, risk mitigation and value
- The contribution of supply chain management to elements of corporate and business strategy, such as:
- Cost competitiveness
- Improved quality and reliability
- Product and service differentiation
- Time to market
- Other order winning criteria
- Negotiation, implementation, and maintenance of pricing mechanisms
Contracting
- Development and implementation of contracts
- Understanding and interpreting legal aspects of contracts
Sourcing
- Evaluate opportunities for global and low-cost country sourcing to contribute to the creation of competitive advantage for the organization
- Monitor potential risks across global sources and identify appropriate risk mitigation.
Delivering Outcomes
- Develop supplier relationship management processes with colleagues and key stakeholders, and ensure improvement plans are initiated and investigated for the effective delivery of delivered goods or service
Metrics & Measurements
- Develop and agree with suppliers, procurement team and other stakeholders appropriate KPIs for the supply chain
- Collate and analyse data that supports the control of prices, costs and financial savings achieved, taking appropriate actions to improve performance
- Collate and analyse data that measure deliveries of goods and services, taking appropriate actions to improve performance
People Development
- Developing the capabilities of individuals in Procurement
- Select and appoint personnel and other resource to achieve effective procurement function.
Ethics
- Work with stakeholders to develop and implement appropriate ethical codes for procurement and supply
- Champion of change to promote the highest standards of ethical practice.
Qualifications
BCom Supply Chain Degree / Degree specialising in Procurement/Similar/CSCP
Criteria
10 years relevant experience
