We are seeking qualified Physicians that are able to assess, evaluate, diagnose and initially treat patients of all ages who present to the Urgent Care Centre with any symptoms, illness, injury, or condition, and provide services necessary to ameliorate minor illnesses or injuries.
Main job function
Perform history and physical examination
Ordering and clinical interpretation of laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies
Prescription and administration of medications / vaccines, explaining the risks and benefits of the treatment, any alternatives and discussion of side effects
Counselling patients on diagnosis, treatment options and prognosis
Assessment and treatment of acute minor injuries, illness and procedures
Stabilisation of patients with major illnesses or injuries prior to transfer to hospital
Preventative care, including wellness screening and medicals
Assessment and management of mental health conditions
Assessment and treatment of chronic conditions
Ad-hoc treatments as per the Physician Practicing Privileges
Refer patients to specialists when necessary
Provide appropriate follow up with patients
Work 9-9 shift patterns as scheduled by the Medical Director, including weekends and public holidays
Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
Report safeguarding concerns as per the relevant policies
Adhere to Infection Control standards as set out in the relevant policies and procedures
Follows the Cayman Islands public health law in reporting communicable diseases
Qualifications
Medical Degree
Completed residency
Be fully registered as a health practitioner with a license in South Africa
Board Certified
Experience/Criteria
A minimum of (3) years relevant clinical experience
Evidence of CME activity, related to the scope of practice (minimum of 40 hours in 24 months)
Remuneration
CI$130,000
