Job Overview

An experienced Key Account Manager is needed to handle the relationships of the company with its most important clients. You will be responsible for obtaining and maintaining long term key customers by comprehending and managing their requirements.

The ideal candidate will be required to build strong relationships with strategic customers. They will be able to identify needs and requirements to promote our company’s products. The goal is to contribute to sustaining and growing our business to achieve long-term success.

Responsibilities

Develop relationships with a portfolio of major clients to promote and grow our products / brands. Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements.

Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives.

Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner. Serve as the link of communication between key customers and internal teams.

Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust. Play an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.

Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal stakeholders using key account metrics.

Required Qualifications & Skills

A BSc/BA degree in Business Administration, Sales, or a relevant field.

Proven experience as Key Accounts Manager. (Minimum of 5 years FMCG Sales experience, preferably of which 2 years working as a Key Accounts Manager with a recognized and reputable FMCG company).

Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs.

Required Attributes

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Shoprite/Checkers, Dischem and Spar key accounts at Gauteng Regional Buying level.

The successful candidate must reside in the Gauteng.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with customers of all levels.

Excellent organizational skills.

Experienced in industry related problem-solving and negotiation.
