Main job function
The Sales and Marketing Executive will lead the strategic and operational efforts to grow market share for our product line across South Africa and expand into East Africa and the broader African continent. The role will focus on driving sales, developing new markets, building customer relationships, managing sales teams, and increasing brand visibility in target regions.
- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies to increase product sales across existing and new markets.
- Identify and assess new business opportunities in South Africa and East African countries (e.g., Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda).
- Build strategic partnerships with distributors, contractors, municipal bodies, and infrastructure developers.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform business strategy.
- Lead, train, and manage a team of sales representatives across regions.
- Set clear KPIs and performance metrics for the sales team.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions.
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on results and accountability.
- Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns (digital, trade shows, direct marketing, etc.) targeted at decision-makers in construction, civil engineering, and municipal procurement.
- Coordinate with product and technical teams to ensure product messaging aligns with customer needs.
- Develop and maintain product catalogs, marketing materials, and technical datasheets.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and government departments.
- Support the sales team in closing large contracts and tenders.
- Ensure excellent after-sales service and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare regular sales performance reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Recommend improvements to pricing, distribution, and product positioning strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales, or a related field.
- A technical or engineering background is a plus, especially in civil or industrial products.
Criteria
- Minimum 5–7 years of sales and marketing experience in the manufacturing or construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully expanding markets, preferably in African regions.
- Experience in managing sales teams and working across multiple geographies.
