Main job function

HSEQ Managers shall be expected to demonstrate detailed knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment requirements at managerial and operational levels, with the ability to design, compile and implement or manage the HSEQ requirements for a company. HSEQ Manager shall also be required to show ability to mentor, coach and guide HSEQ Team. The role is also expected to ensure that Quality activities at Country level effectively support business reliability and performance, by monitoring trends, recurring issues and key indicators, and by supporting the implementation of improvement actions in alignment with central guidelines.

Qualifications
• Degree in engineering or other technical field
• B-Tech Safety Management
• National Diploma Safety Management
• Environmental Management experience
• 5–10+ years of experience in HSE, with at least 3–5 years specifically within the renewable energy sector (wind, solar PV, BESS).

Criteria
• Manage the prevention and protection service for occupational risks
• Identify and assess risk factors and the preventive and protective measures for the safety and health of workers, in accordance with local regulations and organization
• Manage control systems such measures; to support medical surveillance
• Assess and monitor environmental risk factors, propose preventive and protection measures, ensure implementation of the actions agreed
• Develop safety and environment procedures for the various business activities in line with the Global/group policies and guidelines
• Ensure adequate HSE documentation for contractors, including support during preparation and verification of compliance
• Design and propose information and training programs of workers, ensuring appropriate dissemination of HSE-related knowledge and competencies, and to handle HSEQ training and education programs in collaboration with Human Resources and relevant Organization
• Ensure alignment between central HSEQ guidelines and local implementation, acting as reference point for Country execution
• Manage and maintain the alignment with requirements of OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 for the Country in order to guarantee the Integrated Management system certification at global level
• Perform operational controls, site inspections and internal audits required by the integrated management system for the verification of the correct implementation of prevention and protection measures of plants in compliance with the standard in terms of safety and environment, also with reference to activities carried out by contractors
• Support global functions in HSE reporting, KPI monitoring and performance analysis
• Provision and coordination of country-level environmental data for global reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with corporate reporting requirements
• Implement all initiatives aimed at improving health, safety, environmental and quality standards in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines, during the design, procurement, construction and operation stages, ensuring compliance with local regulation requirements and with plant’s permits and obligations
• Monitor performances and conditions at field level analysing critical issues addressing solutions to relevant functions and ensuring the execution of corrective actions plans
• Report relevant information on HSEQ topics, data and KPI and support the analysis of Quality, HSE and operational data (audit results, non-conformities, incidents, KPIs) to identify recurring issues and risk areas at Country level Ensure support for Engineering & Construction (E&C) activities regarding health, safety, environmental and quality issues and to monitor compliance during Business Development and E&C Handover phase as well as to manage health, safety, environmental and quality issues.

Remuneration: R1.3 million
