Main Job Function

Our National client has a new office opening in Cape Town CBD and requires a personable Attorney to provide legal advice, representation in court, and guidance to clients navigating these complex family matters. This opportunity is with a boutique firm that empowers their staff, and your guidance and expertise can assist clients who face emotional challenges and intense disagreements. Your interest in psychology and human behaviour is an essential quality to grow in this upmarket dynamic environment

 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree with three to five years legal experience
  • Experience within a law firm incorporating legal research and investigative skills
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Proven track record
  • Strong background in conducting thorough legal research on complex issues.
  • Demonstrated experience representing organizations in legal proceedings, negotiations, and mediations
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing legal records and documentation.
  • In-depth knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to the business.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Criteria

DUTIES

  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
  • Offer strategic legal guidance to management and various departments.
  • Perform thorough legal research to support decision-making processes.
  • Represent the company in legal disputes, court cases, negotiations, and mediations.
  • Implement and oversee legal policies and compliance procedures.
  • Monitor and interpret new laws and regulations, advising on their potential impact.
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to junior attorneys and legal staff.
  • Respond to legal inquiries from various departments in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on legal aspects of business initiatives.
  • Manage and organize legal records and documentation.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and legal education activities.
