Main job function
o Overall management of site operations.
o Maintain production targets for each site and ensure each site operates within prescribed costs budgets. Co-ordinate and control activities of site staff and ensure all work complies with the quality standards as set out in the contract and company policies and procedures.
o Compile and submit claims for contract sites to Contracts Manager

Quantities taken off and materials ordered
o Plan & Supervise productivity of all sub-ordinates by:
Allocating and explaining the work delegated to them
Prior to each operation, discuss the requirements with them.
Overseeing all setting out by doing periodic and independent checks.
Instruct in detail regarding each process and especially on common errors, and quality standards.
Checking the progress and sequence of construction, ensuring daily planning is done with all supervisory and other staff.
Hold regular (at least weekly) meetings to update progress and requirements.
Highlighting critical activities and monitoring the critical path.
Profitable resource management – plant, labour and materials.
Monitoring material usage and taking steps to control wastage.
Checking on the quality of processes and products.
Actively applying a policy of defect prevention
o Maintain progress in accordance with the programme and budget, by:
Maintaining updated programme and break-even charts
Monitoring and checking accuracy of costing system
Controlling costs of labour, plant and material by reviewing the abovementioned
Informing of variances and any inability to meet break evens
Co-ordinate and oversee the activities, progress and quality of subcontractors, and hold regular meetings with them
Submit monthly progress statements by:
• Maintaining an accurate and updated measuring system
• Identifying and pricing variations and additions
• Complying with contract conditions regarding claims
• Ensuring that statements and VAT invoices are produced on time
• Expeditiously producing agreed completion statements and obtaining certificates of practical completion.
Maintain open communication with Client, Engineer, Local Authorities etc. to fulfil all necessary contract requirements.
Lead and motivate the construction team, including subcontractors, ensuring efficient collaboration and productivity
Maintain a safe and secure site by:
• Conforming to health and safety requirements on site as indicated in Work Instruction
• Ensuring that all plant, tools, equipment, offices etc. are secure
• all plant is regularly checked, fueled, serviced and used and stored correctly.
Enhance the Company image by maintaining a tidy site and by minimizing inconvenience to the public.
Ensure industrial peace by maintaining good labour relations in accordance with company procedures.
Remuneration: R75K-R100K
