Overall management of the department’s supply chain strategy procurement department and clerks.
Ensuring that correct materials, equipment, and services are available at the right time, at the right price, and within budget, while adhering to project timelines and quality standards.

Procurement and Chain Supply Diploma / Degree
Contracts Management (preferable)
Business Ethics (preferable)
Criteria
Procurement Expertise: Proficiency in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects while considering quality, cost, and availability.
Market Knowledge: Understanding of market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry regulations to make informed purchasing decisions and negotiate favourable terms.
Strategic Planning: Ability to develop procurement strategies aligned with project timelines, budgets, and goals, ensuring timely delivery of materials and services.
Vendor Management: Effective management of supplier relationships, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, performance evaluation, and resolving disputes.
Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Skill in analysing costs, preparing budgets, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value optimization without compromising quality or project requirements. Strategies and practices that aim to maximize value and minimize costs in the procurement process.
Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication skills to liaise with internal stakeholders, project managers, engineers, and external suppliers to coordinate procurement activities and address project needs.
Problem-solving: Aptitude for identifying and resolving procurement-related issues such as supply chain disruptions, quality concerns, or budget constraints to ensure project continuity.
Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in reviewing purchase orders, contracts, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to secure the best value for the organization while maintaining positive relationships.
Adaptability and Resilience: Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements, market conditions, and unforeseen challenges inherent in the dynamic construction industry.

R45K-R50K
