My client is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Lodge Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their lodge, which features chalets, a restaurant, a bar, and wildlife. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the lodge, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and hospitality. Housing and a food allowance will also be provided. The lodge is situated in KwaZulu Natal, and the position is for somebody that is single.
Main job functions
- Oversee the Food, Beverage and Kitchen Departments
- Oversee the Housekeeping department.
- Handling Front Office
- Oversee all financial aspects of the Lodge with strong leadership skills with a sense of ownership (accountability) and pride in work.
- Recon of online and walk-in bookings for accommodation
- Daily cash up and winbranch reports with methodical work ethic with a high regard for attention to detail.
- Oversee and manage all stock takes on a daily basis and kitchen ordering to ensure
good controls are adhered to.
- Oversee keeping of the grounds and accommodation units.
- Strong work ethic, ability to work unsupervised, work flexible hours and extended
hours.
- Well groomed, good personal hygiene & presentable with a friendly personality
Qualifications
- Minimum qualification, Matric
- Hospitality related qualification
- Strong Food and Beverage Knowledge
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- Systematic and strong with protocols
- HR and payroll functions of the Lodge
- Hands on staff management and staff disciplinary process
- Basic Maintenance skills and knowledge
- Must have drivers license and own vehicle
- Willing to work after hours and weekends

- Confident, people’s person and be able to communicate effectively with guests and staff alike.

- Proficient in systems, especially in Excel / Sheets.
