Head of Training – RSHT

Main job function

The Head of Training Department will be responsible for overseeing and managing all training initiatives within the organization’s drone training operations. This role will involve developing comprehensive training programs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement among drone pilots and technicians.

● Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive training programs, including theoretical and practical components, to meet the specific needs of drone pilots.
● Instructor Management: Recruit, train, and manage a team of qualified drone instructors to deliver high-quality training sessions.
● Training Delivery: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of training programs, ensuring that participants meet performance standards and certification requirements.
● Compliance: Ensure that all training programs adhere to industry regulations, aviation authorities’ guidelines, and company policies.
● Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance measures to monitor the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
● Technology Integration: Stay updated on the latest drone technologies and integrate them into training programs to equip participants with the skills needed for future advancements.
● Performance Evaluation: Develop and implement performance evaluation systems to assess the skills and knowledge of drone pilots.
● Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance the overall effectiveness of the training department.
● Training Operations: Implement and maintain a customer relationship management system to track leads, opportunities, and customer interactions
● Track Targets: Track progress towards targets set by the company for the training department and provide regular updates to senior management, while ensuring that the department works toward achieving these targets provided monthly.
● Demonstration Schedules:The Head of Training is expected to have a recurring calendar for upcoming demonstrations, at least a minimum of one demo per month while assisting in scheduling per-scope demonstrations.
● Technical Training and On-Boarding: Maintain a consistent process of on-boarding and training internal staff members of all products that the company offers. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, edit, and proofread documents, presentations, and reports for the CEO’s usestems

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in training and development, preferably in the drone industry.
• Strong understanding of drone technology, regulations, and operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs.
• Certification as a drone pilot and/or instructor (where applicable).

Desired Skills and Qualifications
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in developing and implementing e-learning programs.
• Knowledge of instructional design methodologies.
• Remote Pilot Certificate with BVLOS rating
• RPC with Instructor rating
• Experience in managing a team of trainers.

Remuneration: R50k – R60k per month
