Main job function
We are looking for a proactive and detail-driven Pre-Construction Manager to join our growing Durban team. This role is central to ensuring our projects are viable, well-coordinated, and fully prepared before breaking ground. You’ll work across feasibility, design coordination, procurement, and statutory approvals, ensuring a seamless transition into construction. Client is UK based and projects are in the UK and Europe
Criteria
- Design Coordination
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants.
Ensure compliance with planning, regulations, and building control.
- Programme & Scheduling
Develop and manage pre-construction programmes.
Track critical milestones (planning consent, utility connections, procurement).
- Planning & Statutory Approvals
Manage planning submissions, building regulations, and environmental assessments.
Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and stakeholders.
- Risk Management
Identify risks related to planning, costs, ground conditions, and supply chain.
- Handover to Construction
Ensure all approvals, permits, and surveys are in place.
Deliver a “construction-ready” project to the site team.
What We’re Looking For
Strong background in pre-construction or project management.
Excellent coordination and communication skills.
Knowledge of commercial architecture, planning, and CDM processes.
Ability to balance detail with big-picture project delivery.
Education
Diploma or Degree in construction management or similar
Experience
2- 5 years in construction, ideally with commercial and residential project experience
