The Applications IT Executive will lead the strategic planning, governance, implementation, and support of enterprise-wide IT applications (SAP & Non-SAP) to enable and support business objectives. The role will ensure optimal performance, innovation, and alignment of technology platforms with the company’s digital and operational goals.
Main job function
Strategic Leadership
• Define and implement the IT applications strategy aligned with business needs and digital transformation goals.
• Identify emerging technologies that enhance business value and operational efficiency.
Application Portfolio Management
• Oversee the lifecycle of all business applications, including ERP, MES, WMS, and other functional solutions.
• Ensure application scalability, availability, security, and performance.
Project Governance
• Lead planning and execution of enterprise projects, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and scope.
• Establish project governance frameworks and metrics for success.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Collaborate with functional leaders to capture requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and manage application service providers.
Team Leadership
• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing application support and development team.
• Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Risk
• Ensure application landscape complies with IT governance, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead risk assessments and mitigation strategies for all application initiatives.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field. A Master’s degree (MBA) or certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) will be advantageous
Experience/Criteria
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles within manufacturing, preferably FMCG or food industry.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise IT solutions and leading ERP (SAP) and non-SAP implementations.
• Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional teams and external vendors.
Remuneration: R1.6 – R2.2 million per annum (negotiable)
