A company based in Durban, is seeking a Supply Chain & Logistics Manager to join their team.

Main job function

Management and Leadership

Provide staff with clear direction in their jobs through individual/team objective setting

Identify development needs of staff, plan for support ways to meet them

Develop and/or participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organization

Direct, coordinate, assign, monitor and review the work of individuals engaged in supply chain related duties

Make rapid, responsible decisions and implement required actions immediately

Use resources effectively without waste and control costs

Manage pressure of work effectively to maintain appropriate level of performance

Interpersonal Relationships

Lead and manage production planning, customer service purchasing, inventory control, forecasting and transportation

Identify and manage risk within the supply chain

Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning and other optimizations in order to grow the business

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree focussed on Logistics, Materials & Supply Chain Management (BCom)

A Post Graduate qualification in Supply Chain & Logistics will be an advantage

Experience:

5-10 Years related work experience in a FMCG warehouse environment

Demonstrate a history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry

Skilled in negotiations (unionized environment), management and project management

Experienced and skilled in Warehouse Management (WMS) systems and project planning

Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills

Experience with delivery route planning (Trackmatic/DPS)

Strong operations professional focused on continuous improvement

Must be organized, able to prioritize, work long hours and be able to work under pressure
