Main job function
This position is the first point of contact in the Solar Design Unit for all incoming requests and issues related to main solar equipment of a solar power plant located in Africa, Asia, and Oceania region.
Managing, preparing and updating the Solar Design technical specifications.
Will perform the selection of main solar equipment during tender phase for each specific project in the geographical region of competence, interacting with suppliers and supporting the engineering team in their technical alignment (online and offline).
Will disseminate know-how, design criteria, technical guidelines, best practices and latest innovation on the market within engineering units, also providing continuous updates to the other members, and collaborating with Innovation department in the scouting of new solar products.
Will collaborate with Operation and Maintenance department to collect lessons learnt and feedbacks from the field on the performance of solar equipment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
Master’s Degree is preferred
Experience/Criteria
Ability to work within a Global Framework
Ability to work within a Matrix Organization
Ability in working within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
Good knowledge of main players in the photovoltaic market
Basic knowledge of overall design of Solar Power Plants
Basic knowledge of grid connection and electrical substation
Leadership and soft skills
Problem-solving skills
Ability to manage relations with suppliers
Ability to analyze and synthesize of complex business aspects
Knowledge of H&S laws and regulations
Fluent English is required
Must be available for domestic and international travel for meetings and for on-site support
