Job Description:

Leading supplier of bespoke international furniture requires a Showroom Sales Assistant to join their team.

Main job function

The ideal candidate will need to ascertain customers’ immediate

needs and have clear direction on product range and pricing offers (as aligned to the website) to be able to sell features and benefits of each product and product category.

Be responsible for converting customers visiting the showroom into sales through product knowledge and vibrant and tangible product and website assistance




To ensure customers are greeted professionally and correctly on entry

To ensure that appearance is aligned with showroom staff policy

To have the ability to sell with conviction

To ensure that customers’ immediate needs are ascertained

To manage the customer journey through to the processing of an order

To ensure that correct and accurate information is relayed to customers

To have sound product range knowledge and a full understanding of product features and pricing at all times

To provide an exceptional and memorable customer experience

To facilitate daily administration duties aligned to customer service, vetting, order and query resolution

To ensure sufficient and up to date training is driven (by the candidate) with regards to products featured as well as remain fully informed around product guarantees and delivery protocol

To ensure that awareness of any competitor products is on point and understand how to up sell

To ensure that products are visually merchandised in accordance with the company VM policy

To ensure housekeeping standards are adhered to in accordance with company policy

To ensure that products are changed regularly and in accordance with VM procedures to meet operational efficiencies

To consistently reach performance targets and standards relating to productivity, adherence, turnaround time and service quality

To ensure that any outstanding tasks are up to date

To adhere to all service level agreements

To constantly and proactively communicate ways to improve efficiencies in company performance, procedures and systems

To ensure compliance standards and legislative requirements are adhered to and met against agreed quality benchmarks

To acquire and accurately capture all necessary information

To ensure 100% versed in daily operations with regards to procedures

To ensure a professional, polite and efficient service is offered by acting as a brand ambassador

To take responsibility by ensuring that advice is always given in the customers’ best interest

To handle objection appropriately to ensure that positive results are achieved whilst maintaining customer satisfaction

To continuously work towards improving the customer experience and service delivery

To ensure that all admin and reporting is conducted timeously and in accordance with required processes and procedures
