Job Description:

Working on projects to implement or improve systems and processes and making key decisions to ensure the success of such initiatives

Supervising a team of highly skilled developers and managing departmental processes

Managing complex, simultaneous system development projects from design to release

Understanding and contributing to technical solutions from design to code level.

Working closely with development project managers and business analysts to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis to design and delivery

Providing regular progress updates to development project managers and other stakeholders

Defining project delivery phases including activities, sub-activities and milestones, and documenting these as the basis for the project event log, issues and risk log, and subsequent reporting

Ensuring support from key stakeholders by building strong project teams and maintaining robust communication on project statuses

Identifying risks and issues; managing these closely; and driving stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required standards

Working closely with internal teams to ensure alignment across operations for the seamless implementation of existing and new systems

Contributing to post-implementation reviews on the success or otherwise of projects

Supporting project resource scheduling and department capacity planning

Contributing to the definition of departmental and systems strategies and the progression of any allocated objectives.

 

Candidate Profile

The senior Web Developer will be part of the DevOps team, responsible for creating and maintaining the companies website using scripting language.  He / She will supervise a team of Developers, assisting with coding testing design adjustments and client reviews

The suitable candidate requires experience in leading and managing the delivery of system software

Should have worked on a variety of software development approaches and methodologies including Agile and Waterfall in both architecture and implementation level software design

Capture analysis techniques and process improvement approaches

Drive projects to meet milestones and overcome challenges

Should be capable of performing without routine supervision

Possess the desire to remain technically capable and an expert in technologies

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a similar field

Experience:

Experience/Criteria

At least six years' working experience as a web developer.

Experience in the development of software using C#, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Docker, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, API development

An understanding and exposure to CI/CD, Automation, Google Analytics, Linux Server administration, search engine optimisation, and subscription-modelled businesses.  Experience in the usage of Agile development principles and coaching skills

Excellent personal organisation skills and the ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks

A solid understanding of web design and development principles

In-depth knowledge of software prototyping and UX design tools

Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform

A good understanding of GIT version control

A portfolio of web design and projects you've worked on
