PURPOSE/MAIN JOB FUNCTION
The purpose of this SA Head Office role is to be groomed to step into the shoes of the current MD in 5-6 years’ time and to grow the company by:
· Setting the strategy for the Commercial Business in existing and new route to market channels.
· Managing performance across Africa and develop high-level performance improvement plans.
· Being responsible for the achievement of profit levels and maximization of sales achievement across the company’s Commercial portfolio.
· Improve profitability.
· Lead the investigation and development of new market opportunities.
· Monitor the strategies, tactics and activities of key regional competitors against challenging customer demand.
· Participate in technical studies.
· Motivate, maintain and grow staff complement.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· Minimum relevant Honours degree (Mining/Metallurgy Engineering or Geology/relevant ESG qualification)
· MSc/PhD/MBA/MDP will be an added advantage
· Minimum of 10 - 12 years’ experience in a similar role
· Strong business acumen, entrepreneurial and commercial thinking
· Analytical and Critical Thinking
· Proven Management/leadership skills and experience
· Proven industry network
