Main job function
Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the Opco CEOs, the Executive: Group
The Senior Manager: Commercial Legal is responsible to manage all aspects of commercial legal requirements, transactions and initiatives within the Group, with a primary focus on digital services and digital products. This role will manage and provide guidance and advice on legal aspects of transactions, legal risks and other legal matters. Provide guidance, support and advice to operating units in relation to commercial legal matters, with a primary focus on digital services and digital products.
Qualifications
Education:
4-year Academic Degree with Honours (LLB or equivalent preferred)
Qualified attorney
MBA / Masters advantageous
Fluent in English
Fluent in French (an advantage)
Experience/Criteria
Minimum 5 - 8 years’ of Legal Experience at a reputable law firm.
Experience advising on matters, transactions and regulatory issues relating to digital services and digital products, including new media, VAS, video, music, gaming and advertising.
Experience drafting and negotiating transactions involving the procurement, development, licensing and support of technology products and services, and intellectual property
Experience managing and negotiating complex or sophisticated commercial transactions, including transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.
Experience working with and managing multiple stakeholders
Experience working in, or advising, entities operating in the telecommunications industry (an advantage)
Work across diverse cultures and geographies
Understanding of, and familiarity with:
- Digital services and digital products, including new media, VAS, video, music, gaming, and advertising
- Regulatory and compliance requirements and principles impacting, or relevant to, new media, video, music, gaming and advertising
- Intellectual property laws, data protection laws and anti-trust laws
- Emerging technologies
Interest in the use of technology to deliver legal services
Knowledge of the Telecoms industry and practices (an advantage)
Knowledge and familiarity with procurement processes in large organisations (an advantage)
