Client in the Higher Education industry is seeking the services of a dynamic, and experienced SENIOR LECTURER/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR – Statistical Sciences or Mathematics to join their team.
Main job function
All academics are responsible for the dissemination of knowledge (teaching and learning), creation of knowledge (research) and community engagement, recognizing that there are differences in the execution of these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties. Academics are also expected to assume some administrative, management and/or leadership duties at the departmental, Faculty and/or University level.
PhD in Statistical Sciences or Mathematics – or close to completion will be considered
7-10 years’ experience
Statistical Sciences or Mathematics (but not in Operations Research / Applied Statistics / Demography / Decision Science / Analytics / Applied Mathematics*) with experience in teaching in the following disciplinary areas: Mathematical Statistics (at undergraduate and postgraduate levels): Multivariate Analysis; Generalized Linear Models; Bayesian Statistics; Financial Statistics; Stochastic Processes; Bootstrap; Classification/Statistical Learning.
The Department of Statistics teaches mathematical statistics with emphasis on the development of the statistical theory and its subsequent application thereof and not necessarily the application of stats.
