Main job function
Perform designs and set up quotes for higher value, more challenging pulley projects
Perform Finite Element simulations to verify and optimise pulley designs (Software Used – Sidewinder PAX)
Update and maintain pulley design and quoting programs. This includes updating or improving design methodology (when required) as well as ensuring that the component and material prices used in the program are correct and current
Assist the pulley drawing office with technical queries and software support
Offer support on maintaining and improving the production schedule and material planning programs
Technical
Assist with client queries regarding any of our products
Develop and design product improvements as well as new products
Assist the production team with any technical queries
Perform failure analyses and fault-finding.
Supply clients with design verification calculations if required
Perform finite element simulations on an ad-hoc basis to assist any of the abovementioned functions (Software Used – ANSYS Mechanical)
Software
Responsible for acquisition of new software packages as well as maintaining the existing software package suite. These include
· AutoCAD
· Solidworks (incl. PDM Professional)
· ANSYS Mechanical
· Mastercam
· Sidewinder
· Google for Business
IT
Assist users with day-to-day computer queries and problems
Set up new PC’s or rebuild existing PC’s
Order and allocate required IT infrastructure
Understand the company IT infrastructure and network setup
Assist with network fault-finding and general IT problems
Oversee correct operation of the data servers
Administer Google for Business users and accounts
Take responsibility for the daily local and off-site backup of all critical company information technology (incl. drawings, documents, CAD models etc.)

B Eng / BSc Eng
