Job Description:

Excellent opportunity exists within a Multi-National for a Sales Representative/Merchandiser within the Retail/wholesale Hardware products space within the Mpumalanga and Swaziland area.

Main job function

Regular customer sales & service calls in accordance with your call cycle

Placement of stock orders to achieve sales targets

Liaison between internal admin and customers on all queries (sales, technical, logistics, stock etc.)

Article master maintenance & updates to optimize replenishment volumes and national

listing implementation at store level (stock level accuracy, pricing, ranging etc.)

liaison with merchandising personnel on any issues on a weekly and monthly base

Communication & execution of agreed Key Account activities negotiated by KA Manager

with H/O buyers (promotional campaigns, special projects, new product launches, new

layouts & displays, counts & stock upliftment)

Customer relationship management with key store decision-makers (Buyer,

Dept. Manager, Inventory controller etc.) to secure additional space, negotiation of in

store deals under the guidance of the KA Manager & problem resolution

Measurement of success of campaigns, promotions & in store deals

Report writing, proposals & access of ERPLX information to facilitate customer service management

Daily customer contact reports.

To maximize the listings of all category products through identifying

Opportunities to expand category sales

prepare proposals & co-ordinate implementation of concept displays & planograms

Distribute marketing & POS material; provide training & merchandising support at store level

To evaluate displays & merchandising and assist with improvements on an ongoing basis

To provide support with in store promotions and other sales activities to drive business

growth (this may include representation at stores over week-ends & public holidays)

To perform a merchandising service to ensure the brand is given a high standard of

exposure at store level


Computer literacy Excel, Word

Matric plus Sales & Marketing Qualification


Driver’s license

Computer literacy (outlook and excel)

Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively.  You will be required to sleep out frequently.

Vehicle in good working order

Good knowledge of the geographical area

Good knowledge of retail security industry

Technical acumen (Basic networking knowledge, understanding of jargon & comfortable with installation & set-up of programmes / Apps eg pairing devices with IP settings)
