Seeking a Power Purchase Agreements Business Development Manager.
Main job function
Business Development
Establish the strategy and set up an action plan to generate new contacts and incoming requests
In close collaboration with internal teams, manage and process incoming requests from prospects or customers
Establish the first contacts with prospects / customers and qualification of their needs
Sales
Lead the origination of long-term new-build-asset-backed PPAs (both offsite and onsite)
Prepare commercial offers
Lead the commercial negotiations and securing PPAs for each new-build renewable project
Follow closely the evolution of the renewable energy
Contracting
Manage contract negotiations with Corporate
Manage contract closing and validation through Contract Committee and Investment Committee
Manage customer and third-party quality verification
Structuration
Survey national rules, public regulation, and electricity wheeling schemes
Participate to the development and the structuration of new offers as per South African market specifics
Reporting
Implement sales reporting with KPI on the realized actions
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, business or related major
At least 3 years’ experience in the South African power market or renewable sector.
Good commercial skills and connections with corporate off takers in the South African market
Ideally corporate PPA experience (structuring, tendering, contracting, and management)
Good knowledge of the economic and regulatory conditions of energy purchases and/or electricity wheeling scheme in South Africa
