Job Description:

Top retail client based in Durban is seeking the services of a dynamic, experienced, hands-on REGIONAL DISTIBUTION CENTRE MANAGER to join their organization, to direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations.

Main job function

To oversee the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide variety of items.

Ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running efficiently.

Monitoring and managing warehouse staff performance.

Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the department to ensure that targets are met.

Responding to and communicating with customer complaints.

Keeping stock control systems and procedures up to date.

Ensure optimum warehouse performance by managing and control of the WMS system.

Ensuring that stock levels are accurate.

Producing management reports with statistics on warehousing issues.

Managing warehouse supervisors.

Maintaining health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment.

Overseeing the planned maintenance of machinery and equipment.

Ensuring correct stock rotation, obsolete stock and quality of stock.

Manage stock take.

Oversee logistics.

Recruitment and Training of employees.

MUST be able to work after hours when required

Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Logistics / Warehouse Management/Supply Chain or relevant qualification.

Minimum 8 years relevant experience in a Warehouse/Stores/Distribution environment.

At least 5 years at Management Level in the above environment.

Fully computer literate including MS Word, Excel, Outlook & Internet Explorer.

Previous experience in a WMS and RF scanning environment.

Fluent in English (other South African languages would be an added benefit).

A valid Code08 Drivers Licence.

Knowledge of Axapta and routing systems would be an added advantage.
