Job Description:

Our Client, a specialist hospital based in Pretoria, seeks suitable qualified Quality Improvement & Risk Manager to join their team


This position reports to the Executive: Nursing Management and will be responsible for the following performance areas:



Demonstrate leadership ability, with clear understanding of managerial management responsibilities and the expectancies to risk and Quality management

Patient centred approach to evidence-based care delivery

Knowledge of professional standards

Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements

Ability to use clinical information systems

Commitment to quality, best practice, and environmental safety

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal from

Ability to problem solve in a variety of complex situation

Ability to clinically lead a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment

Ability to assist and support the implementation of quality and change management initiative and clinical projects

Competent computer skills in MS Office application

Accuracy and integrity working with other staff members

Deal with all service providers in professional manner (e.g., Doctor’s needs and preferences)

Promote and carry out the image of the hospital in a professional manner

Keeping abreast with developments in relevant technology and optimal utilisation there off


Registered SANC Nurse PLUS Relevant Post-Grad in Nursing


Registered with SANC as Registered Nurse

Substantial clinical experience in area of speciality, including at least 5 years nursing experience

Relevant Post-Graduate Qualification in Nursing or equivalent

Ability to support and maintain budget management processes

A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems applications relevant to the managements of rostering and risk management reporting

Ability to identify opportunities for process redesign and to support/ train staff

Understanding care standards and accreditation processes

Private hospital experience would be advantageous

Sound judgement and a pro-active approach to problem solving and decision making

Good communication and sound interpersonal relation skills

An ability to under high pressure

Assertive presence

Willingness to work overtime from time to time
