It is the primary role of the Quality Manager to review, design, develop, implement and maintain the quality management system at an institutional level within the CHE, HEQC and other national and international quality assurance frameworks.
The role of Quality Officer is mainly to work closely together with the Quality Director in establishing a quality culture through the establishment, monitoring and evaluation of standards in all areas of the student journey.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree specializing in either:
- Internal Quality Auditing
- Quality Management.
- Industrial Engineering
Preferably bachelor’s degree in quality.
Short Learning program either:
- Internal quality auditor
- Lead QMS auditor
At least ten years of experience directly related to the implementation and development of quality management systems.
Minimum three years in a Quality Manager role
Minimum five years of experience within the Education sector, preferably Higher Education.
ISO 9001 implementation and auditing as a dedicated role.
Developing and implementing internal audit schedules
Conducting internal audits system and process audits
Compiling audit statistics and audit reports
Corrective action planning and implementation
Process mapping and process optimization
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to analyze and solve problems.
Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
Ability to successfully communicate policies, and procedures in a manner easily understood by stakeholders.
Some knowledge of current changes and developments in the South African Higher Education landscape
Ability to work effectively with diverse people.
Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements.
