Take ownership and responsibility for the detailed software development which may include the following:
Desktop application supporting back-office services for our vehicle telemetry system or field technicians.
Mobile phone applications to support our field technicians.
Web applications to support our vehicle telemetry system.
Database development supporting various applications.
Embedded software applications running on our in-vehicle chassis controller using C for a 32-bit processor.
Machine software applications running on our in-vehicle display controller using Linux or WinCE.
Perform necessary software engineering changes to improve our current product range.
Assist cross functional teams with software development assistance.
Be responsible to keep record of own daily time utilisation.
4 Year University Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer/Software Engineering.
Applicants MUST have at least 2 years’ experience in developing C / C++ / C# software applications.
Applicants MUST have at least 2 years’ experience as a Software Engineer.
Previous work experience will be an added advantage.
Working knowledge of databases example MySQL, SQLServer or Oracle.
Working knowledge of Tasking, Visual Studio .NET, C++Builder or Qt.
Software programming of Linux systems will be an added advantage.
Good understanding of software source control systems.
Good communication skills & ability to interact with other engineering teams.
Knowledge of product range will be an added advantage.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Good Technical analysis skills and ability to interpret and apply engineering principles to a practical and cost-effective solution.
The skill and ability to conceptualise ideas based on design philosophies and project guidelines.
A valid driver’s licence.
