Job Description:
A large, well established Company based in Pietermaritzburg - Durban is seeking a Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team  Main job function The Procurement Officer reports to the Race Director. Manage procurement of goods and services, assets & stock control, resources acquisition and Optimisation in the organisation. Manage the SCM function and implement prescribed processes in terms of legislation and Treasury Regulations. Provide appropriate support, advice and secretariat services to CMA Bid Committees. establish and maintain SCM systems compliant with SCM laws. Implement organisational Procurement policies, procedures and guidelines in applicable legal frameworks. Develop operational budget and risk management plans for the Procurement function. Ensure effective and efficient demand, acquisition and logistics management functions. Manage the performance of the SCM system and of the CMA appointed service providers. Provide effective and efficient SCM Contract Management and manage performance of service providers in compliance with stipulations of the respective framework, legislation and Service Level Agreements. Continually improve systems and processes of internal financial and SCM controls. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Alignment with CMA Financial Management policy and to work closely with the CMA Bookkeeper. Available to work weekdays, weekends and evenings as required by events. International travel availability essential. 
Qualifications:

A Grade 12 Senior Certificate

A 3-year tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management/Procurement/Logistics/Financial Management/Accounting.
Experience:

Computer literate (Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Events Management experience and skills (advantageous).

Customer relations and telephonic etiquette.

Accuracy & Attention to detail.

Multi-tasking and effective time management.

Code E/EB/08 unendorsed driver’s license (Mandatory requirement).

Knowledge of good Corporate Governance principles.

Relationship Management essential

Management/Procurement/Logistics/Financial Management/Accounting.

A minimum of 4 years' experience in a Supply Chain Management/Procurement environment at Procurement Officer level.

At least 3 years’ Proven Appropriate Procurement skills, knowledge of applicable SCM regulatory frameworks including Tender/Bid processes, and knowledge of the application of SCM best practices in the public sector/corporate/sporting event working environment/s.

Outstanding communications skills, including preparation of and conducting formal presentations and one on one communication.

Project management skills, including the ability to take multiple projects from concept through execution, accompanied by the ability to prioritize projects.
