Job Description:

Client in the Higher Education Sector is seeking the services of a dynamic, experienced and media savvy PAID MEDIA SPECIALIST to join their team based in Durban.

Main job function

As the Paid Media Specialist, you will be responsible for all aspects of executing paid campaigns across all digital platforms, including search, social, and video advertising

In this position, you will manage media budgets, campaign implementation, monitoring, optimizing, analysis and reporting for all digital campaigns

Setting up campaigns on Google and social media platforms

Setting up target audience as per programme offering

Manage budget and leads generation for the campaign

Manage a portfolio of paid search campaigns, paid social campaigns and display campaigns

Research websites, source and implement keywords, create ad text, assign budgets, implement strategies and optimize campaigns to meet KPIs

Manage spend and clicks daily to maximize profits

Work with the Marketing and Sales team to provide forecasts

Manage the day-to-day execution, targeting and keyword optimization of ongoing paid media campaigns

Creation of effective, targeted and relevant direct response ad copy

Analyze performance data to provide relevant reporting metrics and appropriate recommended action plans

Actively manage and monitor digital media paid search campaigns and paid social campaigns to the weekly and monthly budget goals

Maintain high levels of up-to-date knowledge of best practices and strategies in the management of online paid media

Assist in development of digital media paid search plans and building effective relationships with vendors

Report agency’s paid media performance to senior management team on a weekly or monthly basis

Assist in the scoping and development of proposals and workable budgets



Diploma/Degree would be advantageous


Proven work experience as a Paid Media Specialist

Relevant tertiary qualification

Have strong copywriting, reporting and communication skills

Have a strong working knowledge of Google AdWords and Analytics

Have a track record in helping to deliver effective social media campaigns

Have a passion for digital marketing in general

Have a strong attention to detail

Be a self-starter who can work under their own initiative

A good, confident grasp of the MS Office suite, Excel in particular

Analytical thinker

Be able to uncover trends in data and analysis

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

Excellent organizational, scheduling and planning skills

Knowledge and experience on all social media platforms

Ability to manage different priorities and meet deadlines

Awareness of current affairs and a passion for finding out new information

Creativity, Self-confident and sociable, ability to network effectively
