Job Description:

Main job functions

-      Demonstrate leadership ability, with clear understanding of managerial management responsibilities and the expectancies to risk and quality management.

-      Patient centered approach to evidence-based care delivery.

-      Knowledge of professional standards.

-      Knowledge of legal and ethical requirements.

-      Ability to use clinical information systems.

-      Commitment to quality, best practice and environment safety.

-      Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.

-      Ability to problem solve in a variety of complex situations.

-      Ability to clinically lead a dynamic team which works effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

-      Ability to assist and support the implementation of quality and change management initiative and clinical projects.

-      Competent computer skills in MS Office Applications.

-      Accuracy and integrity working with other staff members.

-      Deal with all service providers in a professional manner (e.g., Doctor’s needs and preferences).

-      Promote and carry out the image of the hospital in a professional manner.

-      Keeping abreast with developments in relevant technology and optimal utilization thereof.

-      A commitment to the company’s values: integrity, accountability, respect and excellence.

Qualifications:

-      Relevant post-graduation qualification in Nursing or equivalent.

-      Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.

Experience:

-      Substantial clinical experience in area of specialty, including 5 years’ nursing experience.

-      Ability to support and maintain budget management process.

-      A sound understanding of information technology including clinical systems applications relevant to the managements of rostering and risk management reporting.

-      Ability to identify opportunities for process redesign and to support/train staff.

-      Understanding care standards and accreditation processes.

-      Private hospital experience would be advantageous.

-      Sound judgement and a proactive approach to problem solving and decision making.

-      Good communication and sound interpersonal relation skills.

-      The ability to work in a high-pressure environment.

-      Assertive presence.

-      Willingness to work overtime when required.
