The Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the Electrical Section within the Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Department to ensure proper design and implementation of electrical systems.
Main job function:
Responsible for the overall design integrity and functionality of electrical systems
Uphold, apply and advise on relevant engineering codes and standards and ensure appropriate engineering practices.
Evaluate and approve electrical design requirements in consultation with all the required Engineering disciplines.
Responsible for drafting Technical Specifications, tender compilations, tender evaluations and contracts administration.
Liaise with consultants, contractors, suppliers and manufacturers to ensure efficient delivery of services
Direct and manage multiple concurrent Technology projects
Scheduling of electrical resources with regards to project and tasks
Coordinate work with other disciplines such as civil, mechanical, network engineering Provide electrical engineering solutions for network problems and provide advisory services to Regional Operations and Maintenance.
Undertake audits on transmitter sites to assess improvements and compliance to relevant legislation.
Prepare and manage CAPEX and OPEX for the department.
Plan, schedule, cost & financial controls, quality control & assurance, construction and Black Economic Empowerment & contracts management to ensure successful conceptual development and execution of capital and maintenance projects.
Ensure that Health & Safety hazards are reported, managed and controlled.
Identify risks, quantify it and develop response.
Manage and administer procurement & purchasing processes.
Prepare works specifications, investigate products and liaises with suppliers for tender and quotation purposesBEng/BTech in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current)
Government Certificate of Competency (Compulsory)
Registration with ECSA will serve as an advantage
Be appointed as “GMR 2 (1) - Competent Person” as per OHS ACT 85 OF 1993, General Machinery RegulationMinimum 8 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering projects, with 2 years at management level.
