Job Description:

A leading logistics company specializing in transportation of fuel, is seeking the services of an experienced MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT to join their dynamic organization.

Main job function

To produce accurate financial reporting on time and in line with Group and statutory requirements, whilst maintaining a financial control framework that minimizes the risk of fraud and financial miss-statement

Management Accounts

Prepare monthly management accounts for review

Ensure completeness, accuracy and validity of all material amounts and balances

Ensure management accounts are properly analyzed with commentary on variances against budgets

Prepare and sign off balance sheet reconciliations

Prepare Hyperion packs and submit to Group

Review audit working files

Budget and Year End Estimate Process

Prepare annual budgets and quarterly year end estimates

Obtain understanding of business through visiting the business and interacting with the various role players

Ensure that revenue is within capacities of facilities and are achievable

Ensure expenditure is completely accounted for considering existing business, growth opportunities and inflation

Ensure that CAPEX requirements fulfill a maintenance or expansionary need and that the impact of expansionary CAPEX, where applicable, is reflected in Revenue

Ensure staffing costs are accurately budgeted for, given planned growth and inflationary factors

Upload into SAP and Hyperion

Interim & Year End Audit Process

Preparation of interim and year end packs

Co-ordinate with Auditors and Group to ensure deadlines are met and accuracy of reporting, including taxation

Internal Financial Control Frameworks

Ensure that IFC’s are reviewed and updated on an ongoing basis to ensure that they remain relevant to their objectives

Conduct quarterly reviews of IFC’s at Business Unit level

Facilitate and co-ordinate annual audit of IFC’s, follow up on issues and other audit findings

Compliance (Income Tax, Vat & PAYE)

Ensure that all submission deadlines are met

Attend to tax computation audit review queries

Complete Corpsmart pack for submission to SARS

Assist National Manager - Finance in monitoring GIL tax compliance in terms of Income tax and Vat by conducting regular reviews in this regard

Ensure that all submissions are accurate and complete

Ensure that all staff are adequately trained and updated to maximize their knowledge and compliance

Inventory Management

Responsible for the management of inventory reporting and analysis

Perform sample stock count audits on an annual basis

Manage obsolete stock

Cash forecasting

Prepare and distribute daily cash forecasts

Monitor cash balances

Ad-hoc projects & other responsibilities

Assist in reviewing payments and releasing payments on GIL business banking on-line, where necessary

Carry out any projects as and when required

CA(SA) - non-negotiable
