Main job function
Logistics Managers overseeing the entire supply chain purchasing and distribution process. Collaborate closely with product suppliers and clients to build strong and long-lasting relationships. Constantly working with suppliers as well to determine and negotiate shipping rates. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail to oversee daily operations and logistics employees. In addition to having excellent organizational skills, you should also possess in-depth knowledge of logistics an inventory systems.
The Logistics Managers will typically handle the entire delivery process of products by scheduling both inbound purchased and outbound sales distribution and constantly monitoring them to make sure each timeous delivery. To ensure the logistical processes are running smoothly, they meet with department heads to determine which logistics improvements need to be made to increase productivity levels across the organization.
QualificationsDegree or Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain or similar preferred
Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager
Record of successful distribution and logistics management
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff
Proficient in standard logistics software
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects
