Main job function
Improve and maintain the IT function for the Group in the subsidiary offices and all African project sites, so that it genuinely delivers and adds value to the business, by providing a stable and secure IT environment for all group companies.
Objectives:
Lead and manage of all IT functions in Africa; applications, services and network, except Level 1 & 2 Helpdesk.
Improve current infrastructure environment to be 100% on supported operating systems and patched in accordance with the Corporate Patching policy.
Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units, to proactively develop and deliver IT projects that will provide greater productivity, security, customer value and / or experience for staff.
Maintain and improve cyber security across all of the networks, minimising external risks and ensuring protection of groups intellectual property.
Maintain and improve business continuity / disaster recovery plans for all information technology systems.
Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day operations of all IT staff in Africa (excluding helpdesk staff), services and applications. Lead by example and provide an environment that promotes wellbeing and high performance.
Provide recommendations and budgets for future strategic direction of IT services in Africa ensuring it is aligned with business strategy.
Procurement and management of IT hardware, software and services
Management of all communication and telephony agreements, data links, managed devices, mobile and satellite accounts in Africa.
Responsible for the design and deployment of hardware, software and communication links for the integration of project sites.
Manage and deploy all core Microsoft technologies including 0365.
Liaise with third party support vendors and manage performance and contracts.
Oversee network security to ensure all company data and assets are maintained to best industry standards.
Ensure all data is managed in accordance with regulatory requirements, guidelines and privacy policies and practices.
Maintaining all IT documentation and instructions on the IT Wiki application.
Actively promoting the corporate shared service IT functions to all businesses within the Group.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years in a similar role and minimum of 10 years in Information Technology roles
Information Technology Degree or similar
Demonstrable experience of Microsoft Technology stack including 0365 and SCCM, SQL and Oracle/SAP databases, network architecture, Cisco / Meraki and Symantec security products, VMWare and Bentley software.
Demonstrable experience in delivering major IT Projects on time and on budget and with a high degree of user adoption.
