Job Description:

Exciting opportunity within South African office of International Engineering company providing solutions for Renewable Energy Generation and Storage (Solar, High Efficiency Generators, Wind, Fuel Cells & CHP)

Main job function

Development of a strategy for the continued evolution of the company’s energy generation and storage solutions

Development/procurement of new energy generation and storage solutions

Determining new requirements for energy generation and storage solutions

Work with business development lead to develop a joint strategy for the evolution of energy generation and storage solutions

Maintain awareness of evolving marketplace in energy generation and storage, including new technologies

Manage the design, acquisition, testing and certification of new energy generation and storage solutions, as well as integration into existing product suite

Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential 3rd party suppliers, and engage with said suppliers

Maintain relationships with all internal stakeholders associated with the development and manufacturing of products

Develop a broad and deep knowledge of all projects underway within the business

Work closely with teams, and manage problems that may arise

Act as an agent for change to ensure ingoing evolution of the company’s energy and storage solutions 

Engineering Degree (preferably Electrical)


Minimum 8 years’ experience

Previous experience as Lead Engineer (or equivalent)

Excellent Project Management skills

Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and prioritize

Demonstrated ability to lead organizational and transformational projects

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Action-orientated, entrepreneurial, flexible and innovative approach to technical management
