Our client is seeking an IT Developer/Project Manager to join their team. The IT Developer / Project Manager will be responsible for the development, testing, debugging and maintenance of applications as well as identifying areas for modification and improvement. The incumbent will also be responsible for management of projects within the organization from an IT perspective

Main job function
Support of the bespoke Oracle systems (Coins and Adonis)
Manage the Coins manufacturing and wholesale system
Ensure that all queries or issues raised are effectively dealt with to minimise problems and downtime
Manage system changes and enhancements using the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
Liaise with the Adonis support team to manage changes, resolve issues and provide enhancements
Manage backups of the databases and code
IT Infrastructure
Centralised management of links to remotes sites
Server management – ensuring efficient use of storage & resources
Monitoring of Fortigate firewalls to ensure that risks from external & internal sources are minimised
Centralised user management using domains, active directory & group policies
Centrally managed password policy to ensure that passwords meet internationally recognised standards & are changed on a regular basis
Manage VPN access & guest access
Oracle & SQL Server infrastructure management
Managing onsite & offsite backup & restoration procedures
Patching of operating systems such as Windows to reduce security risks
Management of Anti-virus and Endpoint security using Kaspersky Antivirus
Management of the network infrastructure including switches, routers, AP’s and LAN cabling
Management of the CCTV networks
Management of the telephone systems and data connections using fibre, Diginet and wireless
Asset management
Internet access
Backups
Management of backup procedures
Regular testing of recovery procedures
Monitoring of backups to ensure completion without any issues
Project Management
Manage projects using the Agile and Waterfall approaches
Develop project plans, Gant charts, Pert charts etc. using Microsoft Project
Software Systems
Manage multiple software systems including Coins, Rims, Adonis, Sage VIP, XTime, Sage Evolution Fixed Assets, POS, Qlikview, Boris and Sysaid
Ensure that systems integrate where possible and provide accurate information
Design and Coding using Coins Oracle Form and Reports
Analysis, design, & development using Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports for maintenance & enhancement of non-retail systems, focusing on planning, manufacturing, sales, warehousing, inventory & financial areas
Develop detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide for system & program development
Testing of all changes to the System
Test and debug all enhancements to existing programs or new programs and modules during the development phase. This includes User Acceptance Testing and full documentation of results
Qualifications
Relevant Qualification in IT/Project Management
Experience/Criteria
Minimum of 6-8 years’ IT experience
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management / team leader role
Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Oracle (Forms, Reports, Database administration & design, SQL and PL/SQL)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with Microsoft products including Windows, O365, SQL Server, Project & PowerPoint
Minimum of 3 years’ software development knowledge including systems’ analysis and design, SDLC, data migration & testing
Experience with procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers
Knowledge of IT infrastructure including WAN & LAN networking, hardware, VM’s, Wi-Fi, Active Directory, group policies and remote management
Experience in a manufacturing & wholesale environment
Experience with Cobol, Linux, QlikView, Papercut, COINS, ADONIS and BI knowledge would be advantageous
