My client, a one-stop business advisory and skills development partner, is looking to add a highly motivated individual to their team
Main job function
Managing and monitoring investment activity of the various funds and reporting on investments to clients. This includes working with external analysts as well as maintaining good investor relations
Duties would include but not be limited to:
Manage investment portfolios.
Conduct technical and financial modelling.
Execute approved deals.
Conduct or oversee analysis of investment portfolios.
Make recommendations regarding potential fund investment avenues and prescribe changes according to market conditions.
Carry out ongoing liquidity assessment and refinance.
Conduct asset disposal/exit.
Uphold corporate governance practices.
Conduct risk management evaluations and propose recommendations.
Report on existing investments.
Coordinate the disbursement of funds and assesses whether funds have been applied for the intended purposes.
Oversees and monitor the implementation of projects
Lead the proactive monitoring of investments on a continual basis to ascertain their quality.
Ensure that the client financial statements are received on time and analysed to determine the financial health of investments (the analysis includes comparing statements against the approved projections as provided at the time of approval).
Verify the adherence to pre-determined covenants, undertakings and milestones as per the funding agreement.
Lead quarterly and annual investee reviews.
Plan and execute periodic site visits to investees for performance and continual risk monitoring.
Identify early warning signs of deterioration and institute timeous remedial measures to protect private Equity Fund interests and prevent, or at least limit, any financial losses from occurring.
Minimum of a Post Graduate degree with a Major in finance, economics, accounting, statistics, or related field;
Charted Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter Holder will be a plus.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Chartered Accountant (CA) a distinct advantage.
5 years specific investment experience within the investment management industry
Highly motivated individual with a real passion for investing and building an investment function.
Strong customer service skills, including communication skills to deal with senior colleagues, suppliers and contractors.
Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills.
Excellent presentation skills
High level of numeracy and analytical skills as well as problem solving skills

Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships

Strong Knowledge of B-BBEE ownership verifications.
Knowledge of CIPC secretarial company experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
