Job Description:

A company based in Ladysmith is seeking a Group Manager: Electrical Engineer to join their team. The successful incumbent will be reporting into the Divisional Head: Engineering & Projects and will be responsible for the overall responsibility for Electrical Engineering activities within the Plant

Main job function

Directing and coordinating the engineering activity of the Production maintenance engineering support and project engineering teams

Analyzing plant and equipment failures, initiating and following through action plans to reduce to a level insignificance and to implement the permanent fix

Setting and maintaining Engineering standards and systems of the process plant and equipment

Teaching and coaching the engineering, production and support teams regarding engineering and process matters

Developing and implementing engineering and process technology, operating philosophies and practices to optimize product quality and reduce waste

Ensuring that all engineering systems and standards are in place and audited

Providing technical expertise and support for engineering, production and product technical departments

The provision of effective engineering maintenance planning and maintenance information support activities

The planning, organization and coordinating of all activities regarding compliance to South African Law about the OHSA, Environmental and other applicable legislation

Qualifications:

Qualifications

A suitable Engineering B-Degree or Post Graduate Qualification in the Electrical field

Electrical Engineers Certificate of Competency (GCC) Certificate

Experience:

Experience/Criteria

Minimum 5 years’ post qualification experience in engineering project or maintenance engineering

Ideal candidates must display strong abilities in technical management

Two to three years proven experience in a leadership position gained in a manufacturing environment

Experience in the application of world class manufacturing techniques and a high degree of computer literacy is essential

An enthusiastic self–starter with energy, drive and self-confidence

Effective communication skills

Analytical and problem solving abilities

Target and deadline drive
