General Manager IT Services
The company has built a strong track record of providing professional IT services to public, private and government sectors in Oman.
Main job function:
The GM is responsible for providing strategic, financial and operational leadership for the company and will closely coordinate and work with the Shareholders and senior leadership team.
This position is an amalgamation of strategic and tactical responsibilities that requires a clear understanding of customer needs, product specifications, Software Development, account management.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business or related
MBA from top university preferred
Primary Responsibilities
Creation of an IT roadmap for the organization in sync with its objectives.
Design of IT policies and ensuring implementation.
Design and implementation of various ERP projects implementation strategy for the group.
Managing Group of Software Development Team.
Coordinating and managing outsourced services such as to ensure high uptime. Management of security and disaster recovery systems.
Aggressive and innovative cost control in both revenue and capital areas.
Development and retention of a strong team.
Responsible in achieving the company’s target
Implementation, upgrade and maintenance of Information Security measures across the organization.
Experience in leading a team in managing a portfolio of complex business applications spread over varied businesses.
Should be highly oriented towards systems, process and policy - definitions and implementation.
Plan, develop and implement organization’s operational and fiscal function and performance.
Analyse and make recommendation on the impact of long range growth initiatives, planning, and introduction of new strategies for effective use of IT.
Provide expert IT guidance and advice to others within executive leadership.
Provide strategic input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the Group, organization; specifically relating to the evaluation of various IT initiatives.
Work with finance team to develop a solid cash flow projection and reporting mechanism,
Act as a strategic advisor and consultant offering expert advice on IT, ERP, Business Solutions that the corporation may enter into.
Mentor and interact with members of staff at all levels to foster growth and encourage development among senior executive team and all members of staff.
Skills required:
15-20 years of industry experience.
Extensive experience both in development/enhancement and implementation of best of the breed ERP systems ( like ORACLE/SAP), bespoke Software solutions across the multiple businesses in manufacturing , trading, services, government and banking.
Ability to train, develop and manage IT / Group’s Executive teams.
Executive Presence and ability to maintain calm demeanour in high stress environments
