Main job function
Coordinates and controls all accounting and asset management functions
Performs all functions of cash management. Included but not limited to: Analyzing and approving vendor invoices, overseeing employee expense reporting, properly coding all expenditures, establish credit and collection policies and procedures and investing Company funds
Prepares and analyzes financial reports and interprets operating results as they affect the Business Unit and makes recommendations which will reduce costs and improve operating profit. Provides financial reporting assistance to staff and other departments upon request
Prepares, maintains, and analyzes Business Unit budgets and monitors actual financial performance against such budgets and prior years. Provides budget assistance to all supporting functions and Corporate Office
Prepares, reports, and provides analysis on financial statements, sales activities, margins, variances, operating expenses, and working capital
Manages employees in financial management including recruitment of qualified personnel, performance management, scheduling, corrective action, etc.
Responsible for proper valuation, controls, and reporting of all inventory both kept at site as well as offsite
Prepares and manages monthly reconciliations of accounting records
Manages and participates in the financial year-end close
Coordinates annual audit and prepares work papers, schedules and supplementary information as required
Attends Company and industry-related meetings, as required
Prepares reports as required
Establishes individual and team goals that are aligned with Company’s business strategies and objectives
Functions as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned
Assists the department in the accomplishment of the team's goals
Assists employees in the development of their individual goals and monitors their performance towards the accomplishments of those goals, ensures individual's goals are aligned with the business strategy of the company
Performs other duties as assigned
Directs the interpretation and application of established human resources policies throughout the Business Unit
Manages business risk (insurance policy, annual renewal, etc.)
Hons degree in accounting or equivalent - Articles desirable
Minimum of 4 years in a Financial Management roleCompliance with Company policies, procedures and expectations
Sound management of the financial assets of the Company
Financial controls and Reporting
Positive relationships with the Company's bankers, attorneys and auditors
Exceptional oral and written communicative skills
Excellent time management and organizational skills
High level of proficiency in effectively managing others for high performance
Interpersonal relationships that encourage openness, candor and trust, both internally and externally
